Our Activities
Through our organised activities at Sunbeam we create an engaging and stimulating interactive environment suited for the child's growth.
Extracurriculars
Each year, we have several programs and participate in competitions organized by voluntary groups like Bhumi, Lions Club, Rotary Club. Our children have been in the forefront of winning many such sports and cultural events.
Many individual volunteers have come forward to empower our children with the knowledge of topics ranging from the environment and waste management, menstruation/personal hygiene, financial management, cookery to various other life skills.
Children attend hobby classes like tailoring, origami, glass painting, and thoroughly enjoy them. They also actively participate in cooking and gardening, assisting the staff on a daily basis.
There have been awareness programs on good touch/bad touch, meditation, and yoga as well for general well-being. Children are assigned a counselor on a weekly meeting basis in order to address any academic and emotional issues.
Beyond programs and scheduled activities, we at CFA celebrate every festival with a ton of enthusiasm and interest! We believe in secularism and support children from all backgrounds, irrespective of caste or creed.
Independence Day, Pongal, Eid, Christmas and all other notable festivals are happily celebrated by our children.
Events
All children at Sunbeam attend regular school. They receive good nutrition, have regular medical check-ups. Appropriate immunizations are ensured. Any child in need of special attention and nourishment absolutely receive it.
To maintain hygienic conditions, the Home is disinfected twice a year and dis-tempered once a year. There is a playground for the children’s recreation. Besides this, group singing events, bhajans, dances and folk songs are organized regularly.
This making of a happy and relaxed atmosphere also acts as a form of therapy to help children overcome their traumas more quickly.
Facilities
At Sunbeam, eligible children are provided with a clean boarding facility and round the clock security with supporting staff. Medical and Dental camps are organized on a regular basis.
To encourage sports – we have badminton and throw-ball/volleyball courts, and a space for cricket. The play area also includes swings, a jungle gym, and slides that children actively use every day.
There is also an indoor game area where children can involve themselves in games of Chess, Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, and Carroms, among others.
Musical instruments such as a piano keyboard, guitar, and drums are available for volunteers to teach. There are also classroom facilities for volunteers to conduct their programs.
